I agree with the above reviews:

I received a few statements "it works here, must be you" comments, whenever I had issues. When I signed up I was supposed to get a free domain. When I got around to actually setting up a new site they wanted me to pay for the domain, when I explained it was supposed to be free, they asked me to sign a new 2 year plan... I had just opened the account the month before. I created a website using their utility and it showed up on the wrong domain, it is then I found out the ssh was not available anymore and I had to rebuild it from scratch; if I could have logged into the site I could have transfered the site over to the other directory. All and all they suck.

P.S. Their support site is in eastern Europe somewhere, all their names a slavic and they take forever to respond to you via web chat. Review Added on: 2008-11-11

Bad services and stupid techanical peoples - Scamm

They just desactivate my account because someone else hack into it to do some spamming.

i was talking to someone frome ixweb this morning and he was not able to reactivate my account, i had to wait !!!!

VERY BAD! AVOID!

I cannot begin to describe how bad this company is. They seem to run by amatures. Here is the story of the collapse of my website. I am running transactional service on this site, one day the mysql database started going down for 1 hour then 2 then 3 and so on, this continued for about 5 days. After several emails to the support I have been reassured its all back to normal now and this was caused by hardware malfunction and is now fixed and life is rosy. Fraid not! Just that day the database server died all together without any notice, this lasted 15 hours. When it came all the databases we had on it simply gone - empty - no logins no information. I was calling the support every hour and was being told that the team of super active system admins are restoring the database, meanwhile we keep loosing data, our transactional service is down the toilet - nothing works. The "restoration" lasted for about 10 hours and - guess what? Now those amatures installed the server incorrectly and I simply cannot connect to the database. The worst thing - I cant even back the damn thing up and move it elsewhere, because its is simply dead.

Summary
- the service they provide is down so many times you might be better off using posted notes on a wall for your hosting.
- the customer support is not a support but simply "a dude" who just keeps telling "it is being resolved as we speak".
- the control panel is really rubbish
- in general what I have described above is only one occasion, I had incedents like this all over the place

No Problems - Highly Recommend

I have been running multiple sites and accounts with IX Web hosting for about 2 years now. I have been beyond pleased with the service and reliability that I have received. There has been almost no downtime that I have seen or heard from users. I give the company 5 stars, the few times I have had to deal with support everything was taken care of in a timely manner. THIEVES and ASSHOLES

Lemme tell ya this much.

After they moved me to an "upgraded" server, they dropped all my file & folder permissions, their fix was to have me go into over 1900 folders and reset them all myself (this was 5+ years of work) - in this time, I also found that I was vulnerable to XSS attacks, embedding Phishing content into my domains - which IX blamed me for.

Today, after the 3rd time they found crap on their lame servers, they locked me out & REFUSED ME access to retrieve my data!

OUT RIGHT told me "THEY WILL NOT LET YOU HAVE IT". So, now theyre the owners of 5-plus years of work in databases and files I have a call in to my lawyer for damages and theft charges to be raised. It will be served to them w/in 20 hours if they dont comply with my request to send me my belongings.

Stay the HELL away from IX Web Hosting if you want to keep your stuff safe. Review Added on: 2008-10-21

Live and Learn

Well, coming from a newbie into the website business, I got HAD! I didn't think of reading reviews on host companies before signing up for IXWEBHOSTING. Boy! Did I learn!
We made it about 7 months, hoping things would get better (after their big Move...), but it didn't. I was lied to over and over when my site kept disappearing over and over. I'd be working on it, and like magic >POOF< it was gone... for Hours! Sometimes even Days! When it returned, it would be an older version that set me back about a month of updated info.
Their answer to everything, "It's working fine here. It must be YOUR side." ahem.... Finally after many months of dismay thinking we were just new and dumb, we got it out of them that we were on a bad server and it finally crashed...for 5 days! When it came back, it was supposed to be better and new! NOT! We went down just as much. But whenever we contacted them, it was the same thing... "Must be on your side."

Enough! We may be new, but we're not that naive! My best advice is always do your homework and read reviews. This was an awful experience for us. We didn't even get a refund on any of the time that we were down or unused service. (even though their terms of use allowed us a refund). Interesting, huh? Review Added on: 2008-08-10

Terrible

I could go on and on, but here are the basics:
A) The site backup utility rarely works, so it's nearly impossible to make your own site backup.
FTP locks you out on long transfers, so guess what? No big file transfers, and you can't even download your site to a local machine (See item A)
C) SPAM. Oh-My-GOD!!! Everything gets through- even email with no sender information, no subject at all and no content!
D) I've pulled 40 or so of my clients off of ixweb... just waiting for the last few contrracts to be up, then I'll be entirely divested of them.

I really can't understand how you present those information to people. I have already filled complains against those scams at Trade Bureau. Their service is just a fraction of what they advertise. DON'T USE THEM , the downtime is 6-12 hours daily!!! Review Added on: 2008-07-03

Lots of Downtime

I have been with them for too long. There is a lot of downtime and it is guaranteed. But you have to catch them and you have to spend more time arguing with them to get refunds for the downtime than the refund is actually worth. Stay away. Review Added on: 2008-04-14
